Excellence
Altrenotti’s excellence has two faces: the icons that have marked the company’s history since the Eighties, such as the Paoletto bed and the Carlo Alberto bed, and the technologies born from today’s research, such as YOU&ME and the Elevated Carbon Coil system.
Products that made Altrenotti’s history
In the Eighties, as the workshop became a company, Altrenotti signed a series of products that still tell its way of understanding rest: beds, mattresses and collections conceived as complete projects, where structure, fabrics and bed set were born together. This page remembers them one by one, with images from the original catalogues.
Paoletto
The family bed
Designed in 1982 by Mario Panero, Paoletto is the company’s first iconic bed: soft, generous shapes, entirely covered in fabric, presented in the catalogues with the signature «Altrenotti design». Beside the bed, the Paoletta armchair echoed its lines and coverings, carrying the same spirit into the rest of the room.
Koncubino Strip
Comfortable twice over
From 1985, Koncubino Strip was the versatile solution of the Koncubino collection: a removable, washable cover with double padding, pure cotton on one side and pure virgin wool on the other, to follow the seasons. The patented spring system guaranteed uniform resistance across the whole surface, and the covers came in a wide range of coordinated fabrics.
Colorada
Colour in the bedroom
A great success of 1985, Colorada brought lightness and dynamism to the sleeping area: a double-reinforced tubular metal structure, a beech slatted base and an entire coordinating bed set, to personalise with imagination. Pink, green, amaranth, blue: a bed designed to banish grey, also offered in a version with a removable canopy.

Carlo Alberto
Nineteenth-century elegance reinterpreted
Signed in 1989 by designer Alberto Bongini, the Carlo Alberto bed reinterpreted nineteenth-century references in a modern key, with an elegance looking to the Turin tradition of Carlo Mollino: a solid African Pear structure, Myrtle burl and figured Maple veneers in honey, aubergine, forest and anthracite, and a headboard enriched by the classic «arazzo», the fabric panel echoed on the doors of the coordinated furniture.
With Etro
Beyond the bed
With Carlo Alberto and Etro fabrics, Altrenotti made its entrance into the world of the home interior: sheets and pillowcases with patterns coordinated to duvets, quilts and cushions, bedside tables and folding screens matching the bed. In 1990 came the «colour programme» created by architect Gian Carlo Povero: twenty-eight new shades to dress the bed linen following fashion trends.

Biorest, the icon that continues
Alongside the icons of the past, Biorest deserves a chapter of its own: it is not a memory, it is the iconic collection Altrenotti still produces today, always focused on pocket spring mattresses and the fine fabrics that dress them. An icon that renews itself while staying true to the same quality.

Today’s excellence
The same attitude continues in the present: every Altrenotti technology answers a real need. Two different firmness levels on the same mattress with YOU&ME, independent springs for targeted support with the Elevated Carbon Coil system, gel for coolness with Aquapore Gel, technical foams for balance. Concrete ideas at the service of rest, as forty years ago.
